About Bahraini Dinar
The Bahraini Dinar (BHD) is one of the highest-valued currencies in the world by exchange rate. Introduced in 1965 to replace the Gulf rupee, it has been pegged to the US Dollar at 0.376 BHD per USD since 1980, making 1 dinar worth approximately 2.65 USD. The Peruvian Sol (PEN) - formally the "nuevo sol" (new sun) - was introduced in 1991 as part of a sweeping economic stabilisation programme that ended hyperinflation, which had reached 7,000% annually under the previous inti currency. The name "sol" is the Spanish word for "sun" and reflects the ancient Inca sun deity Inti. The Banco Central de Reserva del Peru manages monetary policy with a managed float.
