About Brazilian Real
The Brazilian Real (BRL) was introduced on 1 July 1994 as a cornerstone of the Plano Real economic stabilisation programme, which successfully ended decades of hyperinflation that had reached over 2,000% annually. The name "real" means "royal" in Portuguese and also "real" as in genuine. The Banco Central do Brasil manages monetary policy. Brazil has the largest economy in Latin America and the ninth largest globally. The real is divided into 100 centavos. The BRL is one of the most important emerging market currencies and is heavily traded in global forex markets.

The Chilean Peso (CLP) is the official currency of Chile, with a history dating to the colonial period, though the current peso was established in 1975 after the short-lived escudo. Chile has one of the most stable and prosperous economies in Latin America, with a diversified export base that includes copper (the world's largest producer), lithium, and agricultural products including wine. The Banco Central de Chile manages monetary policy with a free-floating exchange rate. The peso is divided into 100 centavos, though centavo coins are no longer issued.
