About Egyptian Pound
The Egyptian Pound (EGP) is the official currency of Egypt and one of the oldest currency systems in the world, with versions of the pound used since Egypt adopted a monetary system in the 19th century. The Central Bank of Egypt manages monetary policy. Egypt is the most populous Arab country and the third most populous in Africa, with an economy driven by tourism, Suez Canal revenues, remittances, oil exports, and agriculture.
