About Egyptian Pound
The Egyptian Pound (EGP) is the official currency of Egypt and one of the oldest currency systems in the world, with versions of the pound used since Egypt adopted a monetary system in the 19th century. The Central Bank of Egypt manages monetary policy. Egypt is the most populous Arab country and the third most populous in Africa, with an economy driven by tourism, Suez Canal revenues, remittances, oil exports, and agriculture. The Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) is the official currency of the Maldives, an archipelago of 1,200 coral islands in the Indian Ocean. The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) manages monetary policy. The rufiyaa is pegged to the US Dollar at a rate of approximately 15.42 MVR per USD within a narrow band. The Maldivian economy is almost entirely dependent on tourism - the Maldives is one of the world's premier luxury travel destinations - and fishing. The tourism sector accounts for around 25% of GDP directly and far more indirectly. The rufiyaa is divided into 100 laari.
