About Ethiopian Birr
The Ethiopian Birr (ETB) is the official currency of Ethiopia, the second most populous country in Africa and one of the world's fastest-growing economies. The word "birr" means "silver" in Amharic. The National Bank of Ethiopia manages monetary policy. The Guatemalan Quetzal (GTQ) is the official currency of Guatemala, named after the resplendent quetzal bird, the national symbol of Guatemala and one of the world's most spectacular tropical birds. The quetzal was introduced in 1925, replacing the peso. The Banco de Guatemala manages monetary policy. Guatemala is the largest economy in Central America, with agriculture (coffee, sugar, bananas, cardamom) accounting for a significant share of exports. The quetzal has maintained relative stability compared to many Latin American currencies.
