About Ghanaian Cedi
The Ghanaian Cedi (GHS) was reintroduced in July 2007, replacing the old cedi at a rate of 10,000 old cedis to 1 new cedi, simplifying transactions and improving monetary management. The Georgian Lari (GEL) has been the official currency of Georgia since 1995, replacing the Georgian coupon at a rate of one million to one following the economic collapse after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The name "lari" derives from an old Georgian word meaning "hoard" or "property". The National Bank of Georgia manages monetary policy with a floating exchange rate regime. Georgia's economy has undergone significant reforms since independence, establishing strong property rights and a competitive business environment that attracted considerable foreign investment.
