About Guatemalan Quetzal
The Guatemalan Quetzal (GTQ) is the official currency of Guatemala, named after the resplendent quetzal bird, the national symbol of Guatemala and one of the world's most spectacular tropical birds. The quetzal was introduced in 1925, replacing the peso. The Banco de Guatemala manages monetary policy. Guatemala is the largest economy in Central America, with agriculture (coffee, sugar, bananas, cardamom) accounting for a significant share of exports. The quetzal has maintained relative stability compared to many Latin American currencies.

The Ghanaian Cedi (GHS) was reintroduced in July 2007, replacing the old cedi at a rate of 10,000 old cedis to 1 new cedi, simplifying transactions and improving monetary management.
