About Indonesian Rupiah
The Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) is the official currency of Indonesia, the world's fourth most populous country and largest archipelago nation. The word "rupiah" derives from the Sanskrit "rupyakam" (silver). First issued in 1946, the rupiah replaced the Dutch colonial guilder. Bank Indonesia manages monetary policy. The Ethiopian Birr (ETB) is the official currency of Ethiopia, the second most populous country in Africa and one of the world's fastest-growing economies. The word "birr" means "silver" in Amharic. The National Bank of Ethiopia manages monetary policy. Ethiopia's economy is largely agricultural - it is the world's largest producer of chat (khat) and one of the largest of coffee, which is believed to have originated in the Ethiopian highlands. The birr is divided into 100 santim.
