About Icelandic Krona
The Icelandic Krona (ISK) is the official currency of Iceland, one of the world's most sparsely populated countries but with a high standard of living. The krona has been subject to notable turbulence - during the 2008 global financial crisis, Iceland's banking system collapsed spectacularly and the krona lost about half its value virtually overnight, requiring capital controls that remained in place until 2017. About Albanian Lek
The Albanian Lek (ALL) is the official currency of Albania, with a history dating back to 1926. The name "lek" is believed to derive from a shortened form of "Aleksander", referring to Alexander the Great, who is celebrated in Albanian culture. Albania is a candidate for European Union membership, and the lek may eventually be replaced by the Euro upon accession. The Bank of Albania issues the lek, which is divided into 100 qindarka. Albania's economy is transitioning from a communist system to a market economy, and the lek has gradually stabilised over the past two decades.
