About Japanese Yen
The Japanese Yen (JPY) is the official currency of Japan and the third most traded currency in global foreign exchange markets, accounting for approximately 17% of daily forex turnover. Introduced in 1871 as part of the Meiji government's monetary reforms, the yen replaced a complex system of Feudal domain currencies. The Bank of Japan (BoJ) manages monetary policy. About Kyrgyzstani Som
The Kyrgyzstani Som (KGS) has been the official currency of Kyrgyzstan since 1993, replacing the Soviet ruble following independence. The word "som" means "pure" in Kyrgyz and several other Turkic languages, historically referring to pure silver or gold. The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic manages monetary policy with a managed float regime. Kyrgyzstan is a Central Asian country with a landlocked mountain economy dependent on gold mining (the Kumtor mine is one of Central Asia's largest), remittances from workers in Russia and Kazakhstan, agriculture, and some manufacturing.
