About Japanese Yen
The Japanese Yen (JPY) is the official currency of Japan and the third most traded currency in global foreign exchange markets, accounting for approximately 17% of daily forex turnover. Introduced in 1871 as part of the Meiji government's monetary reforms, the yen replaced a complex system of Feudal domain currencies. The Bank of Japan (BoJ) manages monetary policy. Japan has the world's third largest economy and has been characterised by decades of near-zero interest rates and periodic quantitative easing.
About Maldivian Rufiyaa
The Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) is the official currency of the Maldives, an archipelago of 1,200 coral islands in the Indian Ocean. The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) manages monetary policy. The Maldivian economy is almost entirely dependent on tourism - the Maldives is one of the world's premier luxury travel destinations - and fishing.
