About Cambodian Riel
The Cambodian Riel (KHR) is the official currency of Cambodia but exists in an unusual dual-currency environment where the US Dollar is widely used alongside the riel for most large transactions. The riel was reintroduced in 1980 after the Khmer Rouge abolished currency entirely between 1975 and 1979 - one of only two instances in modern history where a national currency was completely abolished. About Ukrainian Hryvnia
The Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH) has been the official currency of Ukraine since 1996, replacing the karbovanets interim currency used after Soviet dissolution in 1991. The name "hryvnia" refers to a historical silver ingot currency used in Kievan Rus. The National Bank of Ukraine manages monetary policy. Since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, the hryvnia has operated under capital controls and a managed exchange rate to maintain economic stability during wartime. Ukraine is a major global exporter of wheat, corn, sunflower oil, and steel.
