About Lebanese Pound
The Lebanese Pound (LBP) has been in a state of severe crisis since 2019, when Lebanon entered its worst economic collapse since the civil war. The pound lost over 95% of its value as the banking system froze dollar deposits, the government defaulted on its debt, and rampant money printing fuelled hyperinflation. Formally introduced in 1939 and once pegged at 1,507 LBP per USD for decades (providing artificial stability), the multiple exchange rates and loss of the peg created a chaotic monetary situation. The Banque du Liban manages the currency.

The Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) consistently holds the title of the world's highest-valued currency unit by exchange rate - 1 Kuwaiti Dinar is currently worth approximately 3.25 US Dollars. Introduced in 1961 when Kuwait gained independence from Britain, it replaced the Gulf rupee. Kuwait is a small but immensely wealthy Gulf state with the world's sixth-largest proven oil reserves relative to its size, generating enormous per capita wealth. The Central Bank of Kuwait manages the dinar, which is pegged to an undisclosed basket of currencies.
