About Moroccan Dirham
The Moroccan Dirham (MAD) has been the official currency of Morocco since 1960, replacing the franc used during the French protectorate period. Bank Al-Maghrib manages monetary policy with a managed float exchange rate pegged to a basket of the Euro and US Dollar. Morocco has one of Africa's most diversified economies, with revenues from phosphate exports (the world's third largest producer), tourism, remittances from Moroccans abroad, and growing manufacturing including automotive and aerospace sectors. About Israeli New Shekel
The Israeli New Shekel (ILS) has been the official currency of Israel since 1986, replacing the old shekel at a rate of 1,000 to 1. The shekel is one of the oldest monetary units in human history, mentioned throughout the Hebrew Bible as a weight of silver. The Bank of Israel manages monetary policy with a free-floating exchange rate. Israel has a highly developed, technology-driven economy - often called the "Start-Up Nation" - with significant exports of software, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and diamond cutting and polishing. The new shekel is divided into 100 agorot.
