About Macanese Pataca
The Macanese Pataca (MOP) is the official currency of Macau Special Administrative Region of China, used alongside the Hong Kong Dollar (which is widely accepted at a rate of 1 HKD = 1.03 MOP approximately). The pataca has been pegged to the HKD since 1977. Macau is the only place in China where gambling is legal, making its economy - per capita one of the world's richest - almost entirely dependent on gaming and tourism revenues. The Ugandan Shilling (UGX) has been the official currency of Uganda since 1987 - a reissued version replacing the old shilling following monetary reform. The Bank of Uganda manages monetary policy with a floating exchange rate and inflation-targeting framework. Uganda is an East African nation with a growing economy based on coffee (one of the world's top producers of the robusta variety), fisheries, tourism (mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest), minerals, and oil reserves discovered in the Albertine Rift.
