About Mauritian Rupee
The Mauritian Rupee (MUR) is the official currency of Mauritius, an island nation in the Indian Ocean known for its diversified and well-managed economy. The Bank of Mauritius manages monetary policy with a managed float regime. Mauritius has successfully transitioned from a mono-crop sugar economy to a multi-pillar economy driven by financial services, tourism, textiles, information and communication technology, and seafood processing. It has one of Africa's highest income levels and a reputation for political stability and good governance. The rupee is divided into 100 cents.
About Bulgarian Lev
The Bulgarian Lev (BGN) is the official currency of Bulgaria, with a history dating to 1880 when it replaced the Turkish piastre after Bulgaria's liberation. The word "lev" means "lion" in Bulgarian. Following a severe financial crisis in 1996-1997, a currency board was established and the lev was pegged first to the Deutsche Mark and then to the Euro at 1.95583 BGN per EUR. Bulgaria is an EU member since 2007 and is working towards adopting the Euro. The Bulgarian National Bank issues the lev, which is divided into 100 stotinki.
