About Maldivian Rufiyaa
The Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) is the official currency of the Maldives, an archipelago of 1,200 coral islands in the Indian Ocean. The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) manages monetary policy. The rufiyaa is pegged to the US Dollar at a rate of approximately 15.42 MVR per USD within a narrow band. The Maldivian economy is almost entirely dependent on tourism - the Maldives is one of the world's premier luxury travel destinations - and fishing. About Armenian Dram
The Armenian Dram (AMD) became the official currency of Armenia in November 1993, replacing the Soviet ruble following the country's independence from the USSR in 1991. Its name derives from the historic silver coin used in medieval Armenia. The Central Bank of Armenia oversees monetary policy and issues dram banknotes and coins. Armenia's economy is heavily influenced by remittances from the Armenian diaspora and exports of diamonds, minerals, and brandy. The dram is divided into 100 luma, though luma coins are no longer in circulation due to low purchasing power.
