About Maldivian Rufiyaa
The Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) is the official currency of the Maldives, an archipelago of 1,200 coral islands in the Indian Ocean. The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) manages monetary policy. The rufiyaa is pegged to the US Dollar at a rate of approximately 15.42 MVR per USD within a narrow band. The Maldivian economy is almost entirely dependent on tourism - the Maldives is one of the world's premier luxury travel destinations - and fishing. The Tunisian Dinar (TND) has been the official currency of Tunisia since 1960, replacing the Tunisian franc used during the French protectorate period. The Banque Centrale de Tunisie manages monetary policy. Tunisia has one of North Africa's most diversified economies, with phosphate mining (one of the world's top producers), olive oil, tourism, and textiles as major industries. The dinar is not fully convertible and Tunisians face restrictions on foreign currency exchange. Tunisia has faced economic challenges following the 2011 Arab Spring revolution and subsequent political instability.
