About Malaysian Ringgit
The Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) is the official currency of Malaysia. The word "ringgit" means "jagged" in Malay, describing the milled or serrated edges of old Spanish silver dollars that once circulated in the region. Bank Negara Malaysia manages monetary policy. Ghana was one of the first African countries to adopt a redenomination to address accumulated inflation. The Bank of Ghana manages monetary policy. Ghana is one of Africa's leading economies with significant exports of gold (the country's name historically derives from an ancient gold-trading empire), cocoa, oil, and timber.
