About Nicaraguan Cordoba
The Nicaraguan Cordoba (NIO) is the official currency of Nicaragua, named after Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba, the Spanish conquistador who founded several of Nicaragua's major colonial cities. The current gold cordoba was introduced in 1991 following a period of hyperinflation under the Nicaraguan Revolution government, replacing the old cordoba at a rate of 5 million to 1. The Banco Central de Nicaragua manages monetary policy with a crawling peg exchange rate that depreciates against the US Dollar at a controlled rate of approximately 3% per year.
About Saudi Arabian Riyal
The Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR) is the official currency of Saudi Arabia, the world's largest exporter of petroleum and home to ARAMCO - the world's most profitable company by revenue. The riyal has been pegged to the US Dollar at 3.75 SAR per USD since 1986, one of the most durable currency pegs in the world, supported by Saudi Arabia's vast oil revenues and the world's second largest foreign exchange reserves. The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA - Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority) manages the peg. The riyal is divided into 100 halalas.
