About Norwegian Krone
The Norwegian Krone (NOK) is the official currency of Norway and is managed by Norges Bank with an inflation-targeting floating exchange rate regime. Norway is one of the world's wealthiest countries, with a massive sovereign wealth fund - the Government Pension Fund Global, the world's largest sovereign wealth fund at over one trillion US Dollars - built from North Sea oil revenues. About Kyrgyzstani Som
The Kyrgyzstani Som (KGS) has been the official currency of Kyrgyzstan since 1993, replacing the Soviet ruble following independence. The word "som" means "pure" in Kyrgyz and several other Turkic languages, historically referring to pure silver or gold. The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic manages monetary policy with a managed float regime. Kyrgyzstan is a Central Asian country with a landlocked mountain economy dependent on gold mining (the Kumtor mine is one of Central Asia's largest), remittances from workers in Russia and Kazakhstan, agriculture, and some manufacturing.
