About Norwegian Krone
The Norwegian Krone (NOK) is the official currency of Norway and is managed by Norges Bank with an inflation-targeting floating exchange rate regime. Norway is one of the world's wealthiest countries, with a massive sovereign wealth fund - the Government Pension Fund Global, the world's largest sovereign wealth fund at over one trillion US Dollars - built from North Sea oil revenues. The Cambodian Riel (KHR) is the official currency of Cambodia but exists in an unusual dual-currency environment where the US Dollar is widely used alongside the riel for most large transactions. The riel was reintroduced in 1980 after the Khmer Rouge abolished currency entirely between 1975 and 1979 - one of only two instances in modern history where a national currency was completely abolished. The National Bank of Cambodia manages monetary policy. Cambodia's economy has grown rapidly, fuelled by garment exports, tourism, and construction.
