About Pakistani Rupee
The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) is the official currency of Pakistan, the world's fifth most populous country. At independence in 1947, Pakistan adopted the Indian rupee and later issued its own currency. The Turkish Lira (TRY) is the official currency of Turkey and Turkish Northern Cyprus. Turkey redenominated in 2005, replacing the old Turkish lira at a rate of 1,000,000 to 1 to eliminate the impact of decades of high inflation. The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) manages monetary policy. Turkey has experienced acute currency crises and high inflation periodically, with significant depreciations in 2018, 2021, and after the earthquake of 2023.
