The Russian Ruble (RUB) is one of the world's oldest currencies, with roots dating to the 13th century as a silver ingot used in medieval Kievan Rus. The Bank of Russia manages monetary policy with a floating exchange rate, adopted in 2014. Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the ruble experienced a sharp depreciation due to unprecedented international sanctions but subsequently recovered due to capital controls, mandatory export revenue conversion, and high energy prices.

The riyal has been pegged to the US Dollar at 3.75 SAR per USD since 1986, one of the most durable currency pegs in the world, supported by Saudi Arabia's vast oil revenues and the world's second largest foreign exchange reserves.
