About Tanzanian Shilling
The Tanzanian Shilling (TZS) has been the official currency of Tanzania since 1966, replacing the East African shilling. The Bank of Tanzania manages monetary policy. Tanzania is one of Africa's largest and fastest growing economies, with significant revenues from tourism (safari - Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater; Kilimanjaro; Zanzibar), gold mining, coffee, tea, cotton, and increasingly extractable natural gas reserves. The country hosts the Serengeti, one of the world's greatest wildlife spectacles, and is home to Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak.
About Euro
The Euro (EUR) is the official currency of the Eurozone, comprising 20 of the 27 European Union member states - the single largest currency union in the world by GDP. Introduced in non-physical form on 1 January 1999 and as banknotes and coins on 1 January 2002, the Euro replaced participating national currencies such as the Deutsche Mark, French Franc, Italian Lira, and Spanish Peseta. The European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt manages monetary policy.
