About Ukrainian Hryvnia
The Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH) has been the official currency of Ukraine since 1996, replacing the karbovanets interim currency used after Soviet dissolution in 1991. The name "hryvnia" refers to a historical silver ingot currency used in Kievan Rus. The National Bank of Ukraine manages monetary policy. Since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, the hryvnia has operated under capital controls and a managed exchange rate to maintain economic stability during wartime. About Kazakhstani Tenge
The Kazakhstani Tenge (KZT) became the official currency of Kazakhstan in November 1993, replacing the Soviet ruble following independence in 1991. Kazakhstan is Central Asia's largest and wealthiest economy, possessing enormous reserves of oil, natural gas, uranium (the world's top uranium producer), copper, zinc, and other minerals. The National Bank of Kazakhstan manages monetary policy. The tenge experienced significant devaluations in 2009 and 2015 in response to falling oil prices and the devaluation of the Russian ruble.
