About Ukrainian Hryvnia
The Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH) has been the official currency of Ukraine since 1996, replacing the karbovanets interim currency used after Soviet dissolution in 1991. The name "hryvnia" refers to a historical silver ingot currency used in Kievan Rus. The National Bank of Ukraine manages monetary policy. Since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, the hryvnia has operated under capital controls and a managed exchange rate to maintain economic stability during wartime. About Lao Kip
The Lao Kip (LAK) is the official currency of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Laos), a landlocked Southeast Asian country bordered by China, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Thailand. The current kip was introduced in 1979 when the communist Pathet Lao government unified the country's divided monetary system. The Bank of the Lao P.D.R. manages monetary policy. Laos is one of Southeast Asia's least developed countries, with an economy increasingly based on hydropower exports to neighbouring countries, mining, tourism, and agriculture.
