About Ugandan Shilling
The Ugandan Shilling (UGX) has been the official currency of Uganda since 1987 - a reissued version replacing the old shilling following monetary reform. The Bank of Uganda manages monetary policy with a floating exchange rate and inflation-targeting framework. Uganda is an East African nation with a growing economy based on coffee (one of the world's top producers of the robusta variety), fisheries, tourism (mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest), minerals, and oil reserves discovered in the Albertine Rift.
About Kazakhstani Tenge
The Kazakhstani Tenge (KZT) became the official currency of Kazakhstan in November 1993, replacing the Soviet ruble following independence in 1991. Kazakhstan is Central Asia's largest and wealthiest economy, possessing enormous reserves of oil, natural gas, uranium (the world's top uranium producer), copper, zinc, and other minerals. The National Bank of Kazakhstan manages monetary policy. The tenge experienced significant devaluations in 2009 and 2015 in response to falling oil prices and the devaluation of the Russian ruble.
