The Ugandan Shilling (UGX) has been the official currency of Uganda since 1987 - a reissued version replacing the old shilling following monetary reform. The Tunisian Dinar (TND) has been the official currency of Tunisia since 1960, replacing the Tunisian franc used during the French protectorate period. Tunisia has one of North Africa's most diversified economies, with phosphate mining (one of the world's top producers), olive oil, tourism, and textiles as major industries. The dinar is not fully convertible and Tunisians face restrictions on foreign currency exchange.
