About Uruguayan Peso
The Uruguayan Peso (UYU) is the official currency of Uruguay, one of Latin America's most stable, prosperous, and democratic nations. The current peso was introduced in 1993, replacing the nuevo peso at a rate of 1,000 to 1 following a period of inflation. The Banco Central del Uruguay manages monetary policy with a floating exchange rate. The Hungarian Forint (HUF) has been the official currency of Hungary since 1 August 1946, introduced as part of a post-World War II monetary reform that ended one of history's worst hyperinflations - at its peak, prices doubled every 15 hours.
