About Uzbekistani Som
The Uzbekistani Som (UZS) has been the official currency of Uzbekistan since 1994, replacing the Soviet ruble after independence. The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan manages monetary policy. Uzbekistan is Central Asia's most populous nation and has transformed significantly since its economic liberalisation reforms beginning in 2017 under President Mirziyoyev. The Algerian Dinar (DZD) has been the official currency of Algeria since 1964, replacing the Algerian franc used during the French colonial period. The Banque d'Algerie manages monetary policy. Algeria is the largest country in Africa by land area and holds significant hydrocarbon reserves - oil and natural gas account for the majority of government revenues and export earnings. The dinar operates under a managed float exchange regime and is not freely convertible. Algeria has used foreign exchange controls and import restrictions to manage its balance of payments.
