About Uzbekistani Som
The Uzbekistani Som (UZS) has been the official currency of Uzbekistan since 1994, replacing the Soviet ruble after independence. The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan manages monetary policy. Uzbekistan is Central Asia's most populous nation and has transformed significantly since its economic liberalisation reforms beginning in 2017 under President Mirziyoyev. The Moroccan Dirham (MAD) has been the official currency of Morocco since 1960, replacing the franc used during the French protectorate period. Bank Al-Maghrib manages monetary policy with a managed float exchange rate pegged to a basket of the Euro and US Dollar. Morocco has one of Africa's most diversified economies, with revenues from phosphate exports (the world's third largest producer), tourism, remittances from Moroccans abroad, and growing manufacturing including automotive and aerospace sectors. Morocco has signed a free trade agreement with the EU.
